Kristen and Scott - June 20, 2009

Scott and I first ran into each other at the gym. He knew one of my close friends, Elise, whom I was working out with. He came up and talked to her several times while she was with me, but she never introduced us, and he never looked at me. I thought he was rude, but he tells me now that he was just intimidated. Ha!

We met again when he was doing his student teaching for his Masters degree at the same school that I was substitute teaching at. We were assigned to monitor the same study hall, and I recognized him from the gym. I introduced myself and we talked until the bell rang.

ANOTHER mutual friend, Maggie, invited both of us out one night and, once again, we got to talk to each other a little. From that, I guess Maggie thought that we would hit it off, so she planned a dinner at her apartment for herself, her roommate, me, and Scott. After that, Scott and I exchanged phone numbers and started talking every night.

We were friends for several months before we started dating. When I was finally positive about my feelings for him, he was gone on vacation with his family. I called his mom and arranged a "surprise" trip to Myrtle Beach, a good 12 hours away! I drove down and surprised him at the beach. He was so shocked to see me and we knew then that we definitely would always rather be together than apart.

Scott proposed on April 20, 2008. Our wedding is scheduled for June 20, 2009. We are planning an event for around 200 of our family and close friends. We're looking forward to an awesome year planning and an even better lifetime spent together.
